Saturday, December 11

This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.—John 17:3.

Jesus told us to “go . . . make disciples of people of all the nations.” (Matt. 28:19) And in addition to teaching a student what Jesus requires of his disciples, we need to help the student come to know how to live as a true Christian. We must patiently assist him as he struggles to put Bible principles into practice. Some are able to change their thinking and habits in just a few months; others take longer. A missionary in Peru had an experience that illustrates the benefit of being patient. “I had studied two books with a Bible student named Raúl,” says the missionary. “But he still faced serious challenges in his life. He had a stormy marriage, used foul language, and had children who found it difficult to respect him. He came to the meetings regularly, so I continued visiting him to help him and his family. More than three years after I met him, he qualified for baptism.” w19.07 15 ¶3; 19 ¶15-17

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

Jehovah is speaking to me with text today. I had one of my BS get baptized in November, which is so wonderful !!! ❤️ He has ‘been around the truth’ for 11 years being that his wife is a sister, but only started studying at the start of the pandemic. This week as I had my study with him I came down on him kind of hard about putting Jehovah first in his life and not doing more. (They are a young family of 6 and they are all about having fun and recreation.) The following morning I received a call from him stating that he is coming away from our study discouraged lately because I’m pressuring too much that he’s not doing enough. He shuts down when pushed too hard.

I failed to have a realistic view of his progress and the responsibility he has with his large family. I know in time he will be an elder, but the need to have patience is especially important and is not one of my strengths but I am working on it. Long story short, we are good and have a tremendous friendship. So happy Jehovah continues to mold us!

@DSC Sometimes the lesson is for the student, and other times the lesson is for the teacher. Hang in there, don't give up.

We will never stop getting to know Jehovah. It will be a never ending process of learning and appreciation for all that he has and will do for us all. How happy we are that Jehovah has shown us long suffering and patience because we are slow to learn and and make needed changes in our life. But as long as we are making changes , albeit gradual changes towards Jehovah's ways, then  we are heading in the right direction. Even if we seem to be standing still, but we are looking up to Jehovah and his Kingdom, we are facing the right direction.

The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah
